Precious Piper at 16 months

There are only two words out of the entire English language that I would use to describe Piper; Fun and Amazing.

This little girl has stolen the heart of all of us.  She is learning and growing so much right now it is absolutely fun to watch.  I forgot how much I love this age.  The age of exploration, the age where she has learned her will and attempts to stand up for her very small but very obvious rights.  This morning while having breakfast, she wanted to stand up in the highchair to take a drink of milk from her "big girl cup", she much prefers that over any kind of sippy and she actually does a good job with a cup.  I told her to sit down and she refused.  I was right there (for safety) but watched as she stood up to drink her cup.  The combination of slippery footy jammies, leaning back and her highchair cover being slippery was too much and Piper fell down with all of her milk making a gulp sound and splashing all over her face!  Funny, yes and she learned.  The next time she drank, she sat.  Smart girl.

Her speech is absolutely amazing!  She literally says a new word everyday.  It often catches me totally off guard and I have to do a double take in my mind to confirm.  The other night we went to Bass Pro Shop to get some fun stuff for our upcoming camping trip to Yellowstone.  I am pretty sure it was the second time she had every been near a boat and clear as day she pointed to the boat and said "bo".  She tries to say anything you ask her.  Here are the words I can remember she has learned:

mommy, baby (both are her absolute favorite words and are used more times a day than I can count), Blake (which may be my favorite word she says, she says it with complete admiration for him and has really worked to perfect her "k" sound, daddy, doggy, book, eat, help, done, "a-boo" when playing peek-a-boo, no, ball, pop, car, truck, wiggle wiggle, eye, hi, bye, love you, ducky, quack, owie, hot, "uvie" aka lovie, her binky is her "dipidi",

She loves to sit in any chair that is her size, she loves buckles but has yet to figure out how to do it herself, she can blow her nose, she can be "hulk" upon request, she loves to read books and her favorite is "But not the hippopotamus", she hits A LOT (we are working on that) and as soon as you call her on it, she rubs your face gently, Mommy can say "no" all day but Daddy says it once and she melts into a pile of tears, Blake is her best friend, no question.  She is obsessed (with a capital O) with my phone and an app I have called "eebee baby"...it has resulted in her first meltdown, several dead batteries and lots of cracks in my Iphone screen.

I love her spirit, her love for her brother and daddy, her sense of humor and how she makes everyone at the grocery store smile.  Keep it up, precious P, keep it up...
