First day of Pre-K!

Today was Blake's first day at Happy Valley Preschool on the "big kid side"..he is now a Big Bad Bubblegum!  I am so excited for him to continue growing and learning this year!

Momma did good today, I held it together WAY better than last year!  I didn't even get teary!  (although I wont commit to not cry next year because even thinking about next year at Kindergarten makes me teary now - ahhhh!)

But, I think part of the reason was I was just so excited for him AND the extra time I will have just with Piper while he is away at school!

Blake: I know he LOVED school last year, I know he made friends and learned how to be independent from me at a new place with new people and new rules.  I know he can do it.  Now, I am excited for him to LEARN more!  He challenges me at home with learning.  He would rather imagine and play than sit down and learn something (insert eye roll here).  Although, he does still learn LOTS and is extremely smart, but I am excited for him to become more interested in learning!

Piper:  Today, we came home and played anything SHE wanted, we didn't have to share, she didn't cringe when she picked up his favorite toy because he wasn't there to snatch it away.  She played babies, went in the playroom and played with his walky talkies and did whatever she wanted to do!  At one point, she looked around and yelled "blake"!?!?!  It was very fun and I am making a promise right NOW not to fill my "school time" with cleaning or chores, but to spend that special time with Ms. P!
see, he's got it ALL under control

He was SO excited to see his friend Beau.  We talked about how he will have some new friends this year and he was excited to see Ms. Tifini (one of his teachers from last year) back in action as the lead teacher this year!

He woke up and was a big goofball

He INSISTED to take his before school picture WITH his "bow and arrow" aka hanger!  Not really what I wanted in the picture, but when I think back to Blake at age 4, THIS picture says it perfectly!

Blake was making me laugh all morning today!  First, he was THRILLED to see his new shoes for today and explained to me that they were quick, running shoes and then proceeded to do laps around the kitchen.

He dropped off "baby monkey" in his school before he left
(which is under the coffee table in the living room)

And, after we picked him up, he said something in the car I didn't understand and when I asked him "what?" he said "mom, did you not hear me?  do you have an ear infection?"

The kid cracks me up!

His friends were quick to play and did NOT disappoint

Piper was certain she should also be able to stay and play too!

it was a GREAT way to start the year and I am bursting with excitement that I get to be here, doing my favorite thing in the WORLD...watching my kids learn and grow!
