Two Sundays ago, I went over to Brian's aunt and uncles house to take a look around and prep them to list their house for sale. I had known for a year or so that they were going to sell this summer and as things were progressing and projects were being completed, they asked me to come take a look to get them ready to list the first of June.
I remember the first time I was in this house, I was 18 or 19 and Brian and I were dating. It was Christmas time and we painted ornaments with Brian's cousin Matthew and then took him out to see 102 Dalmatians in the theaters. We spent many Christmas' in that house! NEVER did I think that one day, that home would be our home!
Funny how life works.
As I followed Brian's aunt around her house, I couldn't help but picture US in that house. I had never been upstairs before, I had never seen the layout other than the main floor and I instantly fell in LOVE with the idea of 4 bedrooms upstairs, my own office and the open kitchen/family room! In a few minutes time, I was picturing our kids there.
You guys, I can NOT tell you how many homes I have shown in the past 12 years....I have never had this feeling in a house before!
So, my motto for this house became "don't list it, just buy it".
We live about 5 minutes from the house now and in those 5 minutes on my drive home, I had us mentally moved in, playing in the backyard and happy in our new home.
One more thing...I guess I should ask the hubby?
It was one of those moments I wish I had a video camera to playback the reaction over and over again...it was a humdinger. Brian was lifting heavy deck boards to finish the deck I made him tear down and take on (way over our head) just two weeks before...I said "babe, would you kill me if I said I wanted to move?" It could go down as a classic moment. His response? "right now? yes".
So, we left it at that. Then, for a week, every night we toyed with the idea. Should we? Can we? If we...?
We started out by testing the idea on my parents and were met with total support, then, Brian's mom who loved the idea and actually had thought of it earlier but not said anything! Everywhere we turned, every scenario we played just seemed right. So, last Thursday we decided; we are moving!
We are SO excited to move our family into this family home.
