Pipers on the Prowl

we've got a mover and a shaker - literally!  Ms. Piper has figured out crawling at 9 months.  Ironically, the same age Blake was was he started crawling.  She is SO cute when she crawls.  I LOVE her little tushy in the air and the subtle movements of her legs until they really get going where she wants them to, it makes me smile.

It is amazing to me the differences innate differences between boys and girls.  Piper does so many "girly" things already!  She LOVES playing with babies and pats them on the back the second she holds them and if she ever hears anything that slightly resembles music she is sure to dance!   She is our little princess and everything I ever wanted to complete our family!

At her recent 9 month check-up, Piper weighed in at 18lbs, 4 oz, she is 27" long and doing great!  In fact, during the check-up, she was holding her hand up in the air toward the Dr. and I said "I think she wants to give you a high-five".  Sure enough, she did!  Dr. Miller said they typically don't do that until closer to a year...I know, I know..she's special!  ;)

She waves, signs "more" and "all done" (although I am pretty sure she has them messed up, so meal time can get quite confusing), she gets table food now, she takes Big Girl baths, she loves to stand and play, she loves looking in the mirror, she has seven teeth that we just started brushing (which she hates, see pic below), she will play "patty cake" right along with you, she still loves to sit or lay with both hands behind her head - very relaxed, she loves food, she gives things "loves" by putting her forehead on them, she is way more snugly that Blake ever was but still doesn't do it as often as mommy and daddy would like, and she loves her Brother more than anything else in this world!

It is so precious to me to watch them as they really start to interact.  She wants everything to do with all things Blake.  He even looks at her and she smiles.  He laughs at her and it is all over, we all laugh!  She squeals with excitement when he plays with her.  AND, she gets VERY frustrated when he "blocks" her from her toys (a new trick that is testing my patience).  He gets up in front of her path and sits with his rump in her way!  She gets so frustrated she grits her teeth, and tenses up every muscle in her body and cries.  It is cute, but hopefully we can curb brothers behavior soon!

I love this stage, I love my daughter!

Love.

Love.
