When naps aren't in sync...

Ok, so from my first day as a "stay-at-home mommy", I have loved my nap times ;)  Well, not my nap time, but that harmonious time of day when the kids are sleeping!  I have been one lucky momma with naps and I am the first to admit it.  Blake has always been a good napper and from the time he moved to one nap a day he would sleep for 3+ hours if I let him.  Piper is a good sleeper to.  I have really worked hard since Piper was born on making naps a priority and really trying to make both of their nap times "fit" into the other so that for a few minutes (feels like seconds) of the day, I have some quiet time.  I think, no, I know it is important to my sanity.  I need time to clean up, shower, work, and just have some "me" time so that when the kids are awake, I can be the best mommy I can.  And, for the most part, I am pretty successful with arranging naps around my schedule...not today.  This morning, we went to visit on of my best friends new baby boy!  They live kinda far away and the drive home proved to be too much for Piper (man that car can do wonders).  I didn't sweat it.  It wouldn't help.  Instead, I got excited about having some M&P time (mommy & Piper).  Ya know, do all the things we *cant* do when her big brother is around.  I mean look at this precious little adorable sweet face:

Do you know how often I get to sit on the floor at her level and just love and admire ALL things Piper?  It is not nearly as often as I would like, trust me!

So, I got excited!  I put Blake down for his nap, went into the playroom and got out one of "her" tubs of toys.  One that she rarely plays with and even when she does, there is always someone there to grab first, yell loud, distract, or take the toys away.

Not today my friend, not today.

Today, it was all Piper and Mommy --  and, I ate it all up!

First, we explored all the toys in the toy box.

We gave LOTS of babies, LOTS of loves!

We crawled to, played with and laughed at the dogs.

More babies, more loves

We "patted" the babies

We shook things

 Explored the camera

Figured out that those things *legs* move!

Smiled, laughed, hugged and played.

And, I ate it all up!

  1. That is awesome!!!! One on one time is so important!! You got 2+ years with Blake and now it is hard to get that time with the second child! It is great that you can squeeze some time in with Piper!!! Yeah!! Enjoy these precious moments as you can!!
