We put the P in Party!

This week has been SO fun and SO crazy busy already and we still have 3 days and 4 more parties until actual Halloween!  It is a good thing we love this holiday!  Brian and I always liked Halloween, but I think it is something that has really become fun after we had kids.  Watching Blake "get it" has been really fun!  Last year he "got it", he loved his airplane costume daddy made him and he loved going "trick-or-treating", this year - he REALLY loves it again!  This year, he gets to add a fun party at school to the mix, a party at his house with most of his friends, trick-or-treat off the street at my old high school, a trick-or-treat train day and parties at friends houses!  Some say its a little much, but really?  He is 3 and this ROCKS!  So, where to start?  I guess at the beginning...his costume.  I love to ask Blake what he wants to be and then make it happen.  Last year, it was an airplane and pilot and I have to say, it was probably the best costume Blake will ever have!  But, this year, he wanted to be a "diver" and don't you dare call him a "scuba diver"..he is "just a diver".  Not sure what that means, but in his head it is a very important difference.  Blake became interested in divers and sharks after his birthday date when we went to the downtown aquarium.  So, diver it was!

As this is Piper's first Halloween, I REALLY wanted them to wear costumes that went together somehow.  I figure, I might as well do it now before they BOTH have a voice!  When Blake said Diver, of all things...hmmm, what is girly and goes with a diver?  I thought about making her a girly, pink, shiny, tutu covered rainbow fish but then I decided a mermaid was ADORABLE!  So, aunt Shirley helped me put the plan in motion, we found great fabric and made her mermaid costume..

Ok, so costumes done - now time for fun!  Blake's school party was Wednesday morning and Brian went to make the day extra special.  They had a parade into all the classrooms (which Blake thought was VERY cool because he loves the Bubblegum class and some kids in it), they had special treats and they even sang us some Halloween songs!  It was VERY fun to hear those especially because I had been hearing bits and pieces in the car for a few days before.  He LOVED his school party in the Popcorn class!

Daddy came!

His turn to show off his costume in the middle of the circle.

That night, we went to my old High school to go "trick-or-treating" with my friend Brenna and her hubby and Keegan!  It was VERY fun!  The boys really play together and it is very fun to watch them talk!

Piper even had fun watching everyone and everything!

The next day was our Halloween party at home!  It is something Kira and I had been planning and looking forward to for a while and it went off great!  We had about 15 kids that came, played games, made Halloween "crafts" and enjoyed some yummy Halloween food.  Here are a few of my favorite pics from yesterday!

...need I say more?!  ADORABLE FROGS!
Blake checking out and eating from the "gross out tray"
Cutest Ghosts and Goblins!
Ha!  This is what happens when you take off "the yoda" and add the diver extras from your friends costume!

 "get it!"

It was a GREAT party!  Blake was SO happy.  At one point during the party, I looked at him and said "blake are you having fun?  this is all for you" and he said "yeah SO fun, can we do it again?"

I could NOT have done such a fun party without Kira!  And, in typical K&K fashion, the next party is already being planned!
