We had a White Christmas in Colorado this year! They showed the statistics on TV and we actually only have a White Christmas 37% of all years and it only snows on Christmas something like 17%..SO, when our 3-6" of expected snow turned into easily 12" you can bet Brian and I were thrilled!!! It was the Thursday before Christmas so the snow would be on the ground for Christmas! It was a fantastic early present! Brian and I love the snow, anyone who knows us knows that! So, naturally we want our kids to get excited and love the snow! We plan special meals, fires, movies, snowmen building, snow play dough and the list goes on and on...Last year, much to my dismay, Blake HATED all things snow! It was cold and wet and miserable for our very stubborn two year old! Getting him in his snow suit took both of us and we all had a headache afterwards. We tried once for pictures and when he threw that big of a fit, that was enough! Well, what a difference a year makes! It is the end of December and our snowy season typically goes until April, so with plenty of time left, we have already been sledding three or four times, made one heck of a snowman and enjoyed watching the big fluffy flakes fall every time it snows!
Yesterday though, yesterday was my all time FAVORITE day of snow fun!
Blake and Brian went outside in the morning and played ALL morning! Blake was excited to get out there and after my failed attempt a few weeks ago to make a snowman (or even a snowball to start a snowman) he could NOT wait to help daddy make a real snowman!
I was inside watching a movie, piper was napping and all I heard through the windows was laughing and Blake saying " I wanna do this all day "! It was the best sound! After our very cool Frosty was built, Brian built a snow ramp for Blake's sled! Blake made up games of his own too, including a very fun game of "punch the snow".
Funny how warm your heart can feel on a cold winter day!
I wand to play punch the snow! Sounds like Blake is following right in mom and dad's footsteps with his love for snow :)
