Orange Friday - Lanterman style

We know how to party in this house!  Today was Orange Friday state wide for my Broncos as they face the New England Patriots this weekend in the Divisional game of the Playoffs!  One thing was for sure - I was NOT going to miss out on a chance to pre-celebrate and have some fun with my kiddos!


I really wanted to go to the Rally with a few friends BUT I didn't think it was the best place for the kiddos and it was kinda cold and windy SO - we stayed home and did all things ORANGE!


This post proves 2 things:


1.  I am CRAZY about my Broncos
2.  ANYthing can be made educational ;)


GO BRONCOS!!!


First things first, all dressed in Orange!

Next: orange colored pancakes, fresh squeezed juice, orange race cars, and two orange vitamins!

 mmmm...oranges and blue fruit loop wheels!

He really did like them (I promise)

Probably the worst idea of the day - orange colored water...didn't stain my son or the tub but looked GROSS!

Then, we did a science experiment...I saw this on Pinterest where you burn an orange for a citrus scented "candle".  I wanted to try it...it worked but not that great (see, you can't even see the flame...sad day because it took me about an hour to light lol!).

Next:  Coloring the snow orange with food colored water!  Blake LOVED this!

Then, we had to run to the store to get white rice.  It is very unlikely that I plan ahead for much and I almost never have the right things on hand...SO, quick store run and I decided to treat Blake to one of his favorite things in the world - a DOUGHNUT!  Better yet, a Broncos white, blue and orange sprinkle doughnut!  Before I remembered to snap the picture - he ate it all!

Onto:  You can NOT have an orange day without learning what makes Orange..Blake loved learning red and yellow make his favorite color!  

Next: My favorite - orange rice!  He loved playing with the colored rice at school so I wanted to make some at home.  It was so easy and we will keep it and add colors for outside play this spring for sure!  so fun!

Lastly:  Time for our last science experiment, color mixing and water dancing!  Again, thanks Pinterest for the activity idea and Blake LOVED seeing how red and yellow make orange!

This experiment literally took all day...it has been going for 6 hours and looks like this:
