Cards are war, in disguise of a sport.

Almost 4 years ago when Blake was first born, we have made a point to go to my grandparents house and play cards with them.

My grandparents house is a very comforting place.  I love being there!  Cards are not the reason we go over there, they are the excuse!  I am excited to go every week and get the time to visit with my grandparents.  I know how blessed I am to spend that time with them.  My kids are blessed to get this time with their great-grandparents nearly every week and that is something I will always cherish.

My grandad LOVES loves to play games.  He is a world champion at horseshoes, had an open tournament in his name and has always been so great at the game!  It is fun to watch him light up inside.  He is a proud man and I love that about him!  He, is also a stubborn man who hates to loose, and I, also love that about him so much!

He makes it fun!

As my grandparents are both getting older, it is becoming more and more precious to me to play this game with them.  It is the little things I have noticed that I love...

How my granddad says "thee" when counting "three", How he HATES to loose and hates to be corrected.  I find it adorable.

Blake, well, he loves our card days.  There are toys, games, and lots of cookies at grandma Helen's...who wouldn't love it?

Yesterday, we played a game of "war" for the first time!  Blake knows most of his letters and we are working on numbers so the Cards are a great learning tool right now!  Playing war with him yesterday was super fun and I look forward to playing more cards with him in the future.

Piper, is starting to love it too!

There is always laughs and lots of love in that house while we play a meaningless game of cards.

Sometimes it is just us 5, sometimes we have "visitors" Aunt Bev, Mom, Tiffany, Jimmy, Shirley...Either way, it is heaven!
