On the bike path today, I saw it..That Love and Appreciation on everyone's face. The pregnant momma waddling behind her hubby as he walked their dog? We made eye contact and I could see her excitement for her future. She pictured herself following her hubby and kids one day like I was mine. Anticipation on her face as she awaits her first baby, but she is a momma and was beaming today. I saw it in her smile.
The elderly women shuffling their feet who almost stopped and watched us pass, clearly enjoying the glimpse of youth and family in front of them, reminiscing about their young kids I imagine..I saw Love and Appreciation in their eyes.
The faces of other young families we passed, smirks and grins between us..."we made it!" Took an hour to leave the house, pretty sure I forgot something, and we are already tired but here we are doing it! I felt it and so did they.
We are all mommas; moms to be, the young and the old...the ones who are missing their moms today. We all have Love and Appreciation for today and for what the women in our lives mean to us. It is a beautiful thing.
Some highlights from the day I designed for my Mothers Day 2013:
BUT, First, a funny:
This morning, Brian vowed to get up early with the kids...I heard P start to fuss at 7, he asked me to mute the monitor (total dad move). I did, but then I was WIDE awake and couldn't sleep in...why, oh why does this happen to me? When I get the chance, I can't sleep in...every other day when I get up at 7, I feel like I could sleep for 6 more hours. AND, one more unanswerable question; why do the kids sleep SO late when it is daddy's one day of the year to get up with them?
Anyway, Brian did get up and get P out of bed and I rolled over and saw this...
Buster Butt...You can't make this up.
Well, with that start to my day, it could only get better! AND, it did!

| happy day. |
My day was perfect. I felt loved and appreciated and really, that is all a mom needs. Hearing Blake explain "mudders day" to Piper as the day "we do anything mom wants because she always does stuff for us", offering to hold my hand in the parking lot "because its mudders day" and the hug before bed as he said "mom, happy mudders day"and this
...welp, that is just icing on the cake!
