Spring FEVER!

I love the snow!  I love love love it!  AND, I LOVE the warm weather!  I love love love it too!  Especially the beautiful in between time when I wake up to a slight chill in the morning, under my warm covers next to my hubby and the first thing I hear (besides my kidlets in the monitor) are birds chirping outside our window.

We have been having great weather lately and temps have been my ideal at around 70 degrees!  Yesterday, was a Tuesday so we had MOPS and since my new MOPS is right up the street, I wanted to bike there!  We have already been on the bike with the kids in the trailer a few times this year and it is truthfully one of my favorite things to do (although towing two kids is a bit heavier than one).  I am confident by the end of Summer, I will be in shape!

I remember two years ago, was the first "summer of the bike adventures".  I would take Blake (then 2 years old), pop him in the stroller with a hat, drink and snack and we would be on our way!  Destination unknown!  There is REALLY a lot to do even in little old Arvada.  The Library for story time was one of my favorite destinations and we would often combine that trip with a special park next to a lake...Sometimes, if I wanted to switch it up, we would just go on one of the many, many trails around these parts OR my ultimate favorite...Standley Lake!  We would have picnic lunches by the water and watch the boats go by, shoo away the geese from eating our lunch, dip our toes in the water and then pack back up and enjoy our trip home.

SO, needless to say, I am looking forward to doing all of those things and more this year!

Yesterday, was the start of our 'Bike Adventures of 2012'.  First stop, MOPS followed by a Target run for Milk and soap (which I forgot at the grocery store the day before - ey, ey, ey my memory).

I have a thing for my kids feet...so big, so little, so precious and fun shoes!

Ready to roll

Just before departure

and, since I am not quite coordinated enough to ride a bike (in a long sun dress) look at the camera, snap the picture and NOT crash, this is the picture of me riding my bike...notice just on my head...the helmet (which Blake insisted I wear) Ipod and I had the camera around my neck prior to this pic...beyond feeling a bit claustrophobic, I made it!

Blake was thrilled the end of our trip was a run to Target and a special treat from the Dollar Spot!  Oh yeah, we know how to party!

Stay tuned for more biking adventures this summer!
What's are some of your favorite things to do with your kids?
