A special birthday gift (take 2)

We are suckers!  Well, when it comes to our kids, yup SUCKERS!  Yesterday, Blake turned 4.  We had a GREAT day!  He wanted a Star Wars party (despite the fact he is actually over his Star War phase for a while)...but we had a great day with yoda cupcakes, lots of balloons, a taco bar for lunch, and family to help us celebrate!  It was very fun and the weather here was beautiful so we actually got to be outside!  Perfect day!

For Blake's birthday, he decided a while ago he wanted a Frog.  Brian and I talked about it and decided it would be good for him to have a "buddy" that slept down in his room with him and may even help start to teach him responsibility, etc.  So, we told him on his birthday, he could get a frog.  Grandma Doozie got him a frog habitat and he was all ready!  On his birthday we went to Petco and quickly learned that we were not ready for a Frog.  They can live for more than 10 years, need a heat lamp, UVA & UVB rays, a humidifier and live crickets...brian and I both knew we didn't want to get into all of that.  We told Blake and he was very bummed.  Some tears were shed.  Then, we went down the fish isle.  He found a Beta fish he really loved and decided that he wanted that instead.  He even found a small diver statue for his fish tank!  We got home, put "Zack" in his tank and all was well.  THEN, two of my friends on facebook told me about these frogs that swim in water and are super easy to care for!  Brian looked it up today and when we confirmed that they can live with the Beta fish, we were sold and told Blake the happy news!  He actually gets a Frog for his birthday like he wanted!  He came home from school today and after he learned the exciting news, he told "zack" " you get a friend".  It was too cute!  He could not be happier!
