A quick weekend trip

This weekend we were invited up to Granby, CO to see my in-laws.  They had a timeshare and were staying about 2 hours away, so we got in our car and met them up there for a quick trip.

I love my in-laws (and I am NOT just saying that because my mother in law sometimes reads this blog)...I really love them!  Grandma Doozie, Papa Chip, Hubby, Me and the kids just all mesh...we get each other.  It doesn't matter what we do, we don't have to have big plans, we just love spending time together.  

So, time in the condo was a very fun and relaxing way to spend Saturday! Plus, you add a hot tub in the mix and my kids are SOLD (although the hot tub, started out cold, then got warm which was perfect for the littles, then was HOT and B was fairly certain it was burning him)...regardless, he got to wear his goggles so he was a happy fish!

And, the rest of Saturday was spent playing toys, having snacks, watching shows, chatting, and laughing..there may have been margaritas and beers involved too...it was relaxation heaven!  Add to that mix a few old stuffed animals from daddy's old room, an old telescope and iphone games and you are all set!

Mommy fail = I totally forgot packing the pack n' play for Piper which means she had no place to sleep!  It wasn't so much the sleeping but her falling asleep that I was trying to come up with a game plan for.  I should have known not to stress, P layed down on our bed (girls vs. boys style), surrounded by pillows and sister crashed out!

Sunday morning we were going to take the kids swimming in an actual pool rather than the hot tub.

And, in the mountains it was cold so we had our suits on but walked from the car to the pool like this...

...it was probably the worst swimming set up ever!  The pool was freezing, the hot tub was burning, the floors were DIRTY as was the water..Blake was bummed but handled it well.  We got cleaned up and met G&P for lunch/beers and watched the Packers at a sports bar in Winter Park.  

All in all, it was a great quick trip away!  Glad they are coming back here in 6 days for a long weekend!
